Youth Ministry

Our Youth are vital to Virginia Heights. Under Rick’s direction, we try to disciple, encourage, and support them as they navigate those critical teenage years.

There are several ways youth can connect at Virginia Heights:

Monday Night Music Group
Several students meet Monday evenings to take guitar lessons and practice music to present in church. So far we have a guitarist, vocalist, and violin player.

Creative Dance
These students practice creative movement and dance to Christian themed songs. They present in church and have traveled to other churches to present.

Wednesday Night Bible Study
After fellowship time, students are broken up into smaller groups to study the Bible.

Each spring Virginia Heights participates in the Roanoke Valley Baptist Association Youth Volleyball League. During the summer and fall months, we utilize the courtyard across Grandin Theater to play and practice together.

Youth Trips
Every fall we go to Hearts on Fire in Gatlinburg, Tenn. This year’s trip is Nov. 20-22. Other trips and activities include Fields of Faith at Northside High School, Kings Dominion, Christian concerts, and other fun and uplifting events.
